If you are a die hard fan of Fun, Frolic, Emotions, Love, Disappointments, Romance, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge kind of stories, I would propose you to go ahead and buy the tickets of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and you will not regret it. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone especially makes this Joy full-Romantic ride worth a while.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is a journey of two different people who are also poles apart. Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) and Naina (Deepika Padukone) who meets up and begins a crazy journey which has one final destination called Love. They discover Love, Hate, Joy, Emotions together. They discover madness and fun together. And they get separated. They again meet up to celebrate their best friends wedding who are Avi (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Aditi (Kalki Koechlin). Will this time Bunny and Naina travel through their shattered emotions and feelings?
Ranbir Kapoor fits in as her perfect soul mate with an outstanding and charismatic performance. There’s not a single frame or emotion that he gets wrong. He is successful in creating a world of Bunny within our hearts. Deepika Padukone plays out Naina’s insecurities and her discovery of new found freedom and zest for life with superb maturity. Aditya Roy Kapur is tremendous to watch and Kalki Koechlin tries her level best, But this time it looks as she is over-acting in some scenes. There were better options instead of Kalki. Farooq Sheikh, Tanvi Azmi and Dolly Ahluwalia were outstanding. Kunaal Roy Kapur as Taran is loveable and real cute.
On the Music side, The songs are already a chart-buster. But special mention goes to Badtameez Dil and today's hot favorite Balam Pichkaari. The cinematography is excellent. Ayan Mukherji has written and directed this film. Earlier, Ayan made Wake Up Sid with Ranbir Kapoor and Dharma Productions. This time he writes a beautiful screenplay but the film somehow drags a bit in the second half. Especially the marriage portions. The editing could have been easily on a Tighter note.
But still, The Production Value and the performances keeps you hook till the climax. The film also looked like a "Karan Johar" directed film in most of it's part.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is of course a delight to watch and it will certainly won't ruin your weekend. The film is fun-filled romantic roller coaster pichkaari.
